I was given your reference by Mr. Dawson who works as sous chef in your restaurant. I understand that you are looking for skilled waiters for your new restaurant and I would like to apply for the same. I am a trained, experienced and skilled waiter with over 3 years of experience.
I joined a small restaurant right after completing high school and have been working as a restaurant server since then. My capabilities and honesty got me a job at a multi-specialty joint in Denver. Here I picked up some really useful skills in terms of serving customers from diverse backgrounds. We were provided training in terms of taking orders, basic courtesy while addressing guests, ensuring proper communication with the kitchen and other departments and assisting customers. We were also given a basic insight into different cultures, their food etiquettes and common courtesies to make guests feel more comfortable and special.
I am adept at picking up new skills quickly and can blend in with different work environments easily. I can handle stress well which allows me to work to the best of my abilities even in high pressure environments. My ability to memorize orders quickly has been well-appreciated by my colleagues as well as managers.
