Social Worker Cover Letter
I am writing in response to your online listing on abc.com for the post of “Social worker” in your organization. I understand you require a social worker who has done extensive work especially towards the upliftment and betterment of people living below the poverty line and under poor socio-economic conditions.
After successfully completing Bachelors degree in Social work (BSW), I took up the certification program conducted and accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). I am a licensed social worker and have been working closely with the St. Louis community social centre for the past two years. At St. Louis I got an opportunity to work for diverse causes including creating programs and campaigns to help young offenders, drug addicts, mentally and physically challenged individuals, poverty-stricken people and so on.
My constant interactions with other team mates including therapists, assistants and senior social workers, helped me further enhance my skills and capabilities. I have a special ability to identify the core issues and find the right solution to deal with them. Even in the most challenging cases, I begin by identifying the core problem and then breaking it down into tiny segments, and then working step by step to resolve those issues.
My role as a mediator at all three levels (Micro, Mezzo and Macro) was highly appreciated by my seniors. I was awarded with the “Best Social Worker” award consecutively for six months. I thoroughly enjoy my work – I particularly chose this career as I always wanted to help people who live in misery because of poverty and mental or physical debilities. In addition my extra ordinary communication skills also help me interact effectively with people from all walks of life.
I am now looking at opportunities to work for an international organization exclusively focused at helping people from the poor sections of the society and to help them lead better lives.
